Arthur Childs

Chartered Financial Planner

Arthur founded the independent advice firm in 1989 which was to become Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey). His previous experience included senior management positions with Imperial Life of Canada, Crown Life, Prime Health (now Vitality Life) and Municipal Mutual Insurance. Under Arthur’s leadership Arch received many awards including Professional Adviser Baillie Gifford Financial Education Award - Winner 2008, Highly Commended 2009 and 2010, top five shortlist 2011, 2012 and 2013; New Model Adviser of the Year South East – Winner 2010, top four shortlist 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015: New Model Adviser Top 100 - 2012, 2013, 2104, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2016; and VouchedFor Top 200 IFAs – 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Arthur is a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Financial Planner and holds Fellowships of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society. He is also a Chartered member of the Institute for Securities & Investment and was until recently a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute. Arthur is a director of Flying Colours Surrey but has passed over his personal clients to younger advisers so they can be looked after long term. However, he is always ready to meet new potential clients to introduce them to the benefits of Flying Colours Surrey. Arthur has been a member of Millmead Baptist Church, a large Christian community based in Guildford, for 23 years and for much of this time was the leader of the NewFocus group which particularly seeks to meet the needs of retired and semi-retired people.

David Lemar

Independent Financial Adviser

David is a fully qualified financial adviser with over thirty years’ experience in the finance and banking industries, across investments, pensions and tax-planning. He has spent many years advising non-UK residents and other offshore-based clients on their affairs and is particularly experienced in this area. David joined the team at Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in 2014. His home is in Devon and his interests extend to involvement as a trustee for charities in the heritage and voluntary sectors.

Greg Tichbon

Independent Financial Adviser

Greg has been in financial services all his working life, and as a Financial Planner he enjoys building excellent relationships with his clients to help them achieve their goals and ambitions. He is a member of the Personal Finance Society and holds a number of advanced qualifications regarding investments and pensions. He is continually working on further professional development to better serve his clients, while helping them understand and take charge of their own financial future. Having previously worked for a large, national advice firm Greg joined Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in 2018, as he believes that a true independent firm can offer the best outcomes to clients. Greg is a keen sportsman, with tennis and football being his main passions. He has completed and organised many charitable events including bike rides and a sky dive, while also enjoying spending his free time with family and friends.

Joe Triccas

Chartered Insurance Practitioner

Joe has been in financial services for the whole of his working life, although his original intention was to be a journalist. He worked at Royal Insurance and General Accident before joining a general insurance brokerage but really cut his teeth in the 16 years that he worked at Lloyds Bank Insurance Services. Prior to joining Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in 2004, he was a successful independent financial adviser at two IFA firms owned by accountancy practices. Joe can advise both business and personal clients. Joe is married with three grown up children and in any spare time left, he listens to music, watches films and also does voluntary work as a public footpath inspector.

Mark Taylor

Independent Financial Adviser

Mark has 31 years' experience in retail financial services and is a Member by Diploma of the Personal Finance Society. Having spent 4 years with a large insurance company in a business management role, he decided to become an Independent Financial Adviser in 1991. Mark joined the team at Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in 2010. Mark is qualified to advise on all aspects of personal financial planning, from savings and investments to pensions, life assurance and estate planning. He specialises in Pension Planning for both individuals and corporate bodies. He is also able to advise on all aspects of pension transfers. Mark is a graduate of the University of Life. He lives in Cranleigh with his wife Ann and has three adult children. He is involved with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Explorer Scouts.

Rick Callaghan

Chartered Financial Planner

Rick is a Chartered Financial Planner with advanced qualifications in pensions, trusts and investment planning. He has always worked in finance since his “teens” and he has been providing trusted financial advice to his clients now for over 20 years. After a long career managing and advising within the Zurich/Openwork Group, Rick chose to join Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in February 2015 where he quickly settled in as part of the adviser team. Rick enjoys helping people and values all the relationships he is able to build in life, this is no exception when dealing with his clients, both old and new. Rick is married, lives in Berkshire, has two sons and enjoys watching most sports and playing golf, when he can find the time.

Ed Stenning

Certificate in Financial Services

Ed joined Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in June 2018, having worked within the Financial Services industry for the past 17 years. His first role was in private banking for Brown Shipley Limited and before joining Flying Colours Surrey he held the position of Paraplanner in an IFA firm within the Intrinsic network. Ed enjoys all aspects of Financial Planning, particularly where he can add value to a particular client proposition. Ed currently holds the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate in Financial Services and is working towards the CII Certificate in Financial Planning. Outside of work Ed furthers his passion for all things Environmental through his directorship in a limited company that innovates Eco solutions, one of which has been championed by Dame Judi Dench.

Emma Calvert


Emma joined Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in January 2018. She has worked in the Financial Services for 15 years, her first role being with Royal London Asset Management and has had various administrative roles over the years. She decided to progress into Paraplanning in 2015 and thoroughly enjoys this aspect of Financial Planning as it provides a valuable service to clients as well as supporting the advisers. She enjoys spending time with her family, mainly on dog walks in the countryside.

Niki Covington

Office Manager

Niki Covington joined the Support Team at Arch Financial Planning Limited (now Flying Colours Surrey) in January 2010. Niki has worked in the Financial Services for over 20 years initially at Cornhill Insurance in Guildford where she undertook customer service based roles including managing administration teams. Niki then joined Legal and General Assurance in November 2000 as a Compliance Auditor for 8 years before moving into a Compliance Policy Manager role, still within Legal & General, in 2008. Niki took 18 months out of work to spend time with her first daughter before joining Arch. Niki spends most of her time with her daughters Emmy and Isla, together with her husband. They enjoy sunny holidays, outdoor activities and eating out. Qualifications: Financial Planning Certificate (parts 1, 2 and 3), Certificate in Mortgage Advice, Institute of Leadership & Management Certificate and CII CF2 (Investment & Risk).

Jess Best

Support Team

Jess joined the financial planning industry as her first full time work after university and volunteering in Latin America. Joining Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in August 2018, she was previously working for a large, national financial planning firm but wanted to work in a smaller one that encouraged more personal relationships with clients. Working in the support team, Jess has now passed her RO1 and is working towards gaining her Diploma in Financial Planning through continued training with Flying Colours. Finishing university, Jess graduated with a Bachelors in human geography and a Masters in social science research, where she spent six months researching housing in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Outside of work Jess enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her sister’s dance competitions and baking her latest creations. Her passions include volunteering amongst the international development sector, helping others whenever possible, at home and abroad, and taking regular classes in ballet.

Joanne Enticknap

Financial Planning Certificate

Joanne Enticknap has been in financial services for over 20 years, starting at Legal & General looking after the Company Pension Scheme. After 12 years, Joanne moved into mortgage administration with an independent mortgage adviser in Guildford. She briefly moved out of financial services and worked for a management consultant before joining the Support Team at Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in 2007. Joanne lives with her daughter and husband. They have two pet dogs and enjoy walks around the Surrey Countryside with them. Joanne and her family also arrange fund raising events to raise money for the Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

Katy Dickson

Support Team
Financial Planning Certificate (Part 1), CISI Level 3 Certificate in Investment Administration.

Katy has worked in Financial Services for 15 years. Initially at a London based Independent Financial Adviser, she briefly took some time out to travel before joining HSBC in 2006. Katy moved to the Investment Services team of HSBC Private Bank in 2007 where she became Team Lead before leaving to have her first child. Katy joined the Support Team at Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in February 2016.

Marilyn Selzer

Support Team

Marilyn has been working in the Financial Services Industry for 4 years and joined Arch Financial Planning Limited (now trading as Flying Colours Surrey) in 2018. Her experience has been gained through working not only for a small independent company but also for one of the top award-winning financial planning and investment companies. Prior to being in the Financial Services industry she has worked in a variety of industries both nationally and internationally. Along with a love of animals, Marilyn has a passion for skiing and travelling (sometimes on her motorbike). In her spare time, she is a volunteer for Surrey Age Concern and The Cinnamon Trust, a charity which helps the elderly and terminally ill who need assistance with their pets.
